How to Help us

Gussies Kitchen Pantry Shop needs the support of the communities we serve in many different ways.

Product Donations

At the Pantry we like to provide our members with as much choice as possible. When we started the Pantry, Fareshare, in which we are a paid member used to send us a lot of tinned and other shelf items but times have changed and they are unable to provide us with them now. This often means that we have to go out and purchase the things we need.

The items we need to buy frequently are:

  • Tinned Vegetables

  • Tinned Fruit

  • Tinned Pulses

  • Packets of noodles and other quick ready meals

  • Jars or packets of cooking sauces.

  • Pasta and rice

  • Cereals

  • Baby food, standard formulas and nappies.

  • Toiletries such as shower gel and shampoos.

  • Sanitary products.

We also gratefully accept donations from allotments.

If you would like to make a donation of items listed above then we would be most grateful.

If you are having a clear out of your kitchen and bathroom cupboards and have discovered items that have not been open and are in date (even if the BB date is for the following week) then please think of donating them to us, rather than disposing them in the bin.

Jumble

At Gussies we believe that if a person or household is experiencing food insecurity then they most likely experience hardship when it comes to purchasing clothes.

Therefore we offer our members a large selection of used clothes, for a very small donation our members can take items of their choosing. The donations go towards restocking the shelves in the Pantry.

What jumble donations will we accept?

We accept the following donations:

  • Seasonal items of clothes - during each season we ask for clothes that are suitable for the weather. We do not have the storage space to keep clothes for future seasons.

  • Shoes - We accept all types of footwear that are in a good condition.

  • Bedding - We can accept donations of bedding as long as they are in a good clean condition.

  • Curtains -  we can accept these if they are in good, clean condition.

  • Kitchenware - We can take donations of pots/pans/cutlery etc that still has plenty of use in them but please contact us before bringing the donation to us.

  • WE CAN NOT ACCEPT DONATIONS OF ELECTRICAL ITEMS

  • At Christmas time we accept donations of children's toys that have all the parts and are in a clean condition. Again NO ELECTRICALS
